Catoctin Creek Whisky

Catoctin Creek sits in the heart of Virginia and has made rye whiskey its life's work at a time when most American distilleries chase bourbon. It's a family-run distillery insisting on local ingredients and traditional hands-on distillation. The result is a spiced, characterful whiskey that stands well apart from the crowd.

    Expert description

Catoctin Creek Single Barrel Roundstone Virginia Rye Whisky is an American rye whisky, bottled at 40%. Catoctin Creek was founded in 2009 by Scott and Becky Harris and was the first legal distillery since Prohibition in Purcellville, Loudoun County, Virginia. Roundstone Rye, the distillery's flagship, is made from 100% rye, grown locally, milled, fermented and distilled on site in copper pot stills. Virginia is often considered the birthplace of American whiskey, as rye whiskey was distilled here as far back as Jamestown in 1607, long before bourbon became Kentucky's signature spirit.
