Kingsbarns Whiskey

In the East Neuk of Fife, where Scotland's golfing history meets the North Sea wind, no whisky had been distilled for over a hundred years until Kingsbarns opened in 2014. The distillery sits just a few hundred metres from one of the world's most famous golf courses and shares the landscape's calm, coastal character. This is new Scotch whisky built on old ground that waited patiently to be rediscovered.

About Kingsbarns

The Kingsbarns distillery, located in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife in Scotland, is a celebrated producer of single malt whisky. With a modern approach to traditional craftsmanship, the distillery creates whiskies of high quality and finesse. For the newcomer it's an accessible, fruity Lowland-style single malt; for the connoisseur, Kingsbarns is interesting as one of the newest distilleries in the Fife area, built inside a restored 18th-century farm building, giving the whisky a story of rebirth rather than long, unbroken tradition.

History & Background

Kingsbarns officially began production in 2014, after a consortium built around the Wemyss family restored the old 18th-century Cambo Home Farm into a fully functioning distillery. There had been no legal whisky production in the East Neuk of Fife area since the 1800s, so the venture revived a nearly forgotten local tradition. The distillery quickly became a popular visitor destination thanks to its proximity to St Andrews and its golf courses, with the first official releases reaching the market in the late 2010s after the mandatory maturation period.

Production & Style

The whisky is distilled with a deliberate focus on fruity character and matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, in line with the Lowland region's lighter style.

Signature Style

Fruity, Light, Elegant
Citrus, apple and a light sweetness give an accessible, elegant whisky matching the golf course's green, open landscape.
