Lowlands Lost on Oak is a Danish oak-aged aquavit at 42% ABV from the Danish distillery Lowlands Denmark.
The base is the classic spice blend of dill and fennel seed, coriander, pepper and orange peel, but it is the ageing on lightly toasted oak flakes that gives this aquavit its character. The flakes draw warm notes of vanilla and caramel from the wood, while the original spice profile still shines through. The result is a softer, rounder aquavit than the traditional, unaged style.
