    Expert's Description

Van Meer's Stroopwafel Holland Wafel Liqueur is a Dutch Fruit liqueur based on caramel syrup, bottled at 14.7% ABV.

Van Meers Likeur is a Dutch producer whose stroopwafel recipe was originally put together in 1850 by confectioner Emiel van Meers. The liqueur is built on the ingredients of the authentic Gouda stroopwafel, reinterpreting the beloved Dutch classic in alcoholic form.

About Van Meers Stroopwafel

Van Meers Stroopwafel is a Dutch liqueur drawing its flavour from the classic Dutch stroopwafel cookie. The liqueur is made with caramel and cinnamon, giving it the same sweet, baked character that makes the original waffle so recognisable, making it a perfect match for coffee, desserts or as a sweet digestif. Because the stroopwafel is one of Holland's most iconic export products, the liqueur offers instant recognisability, making it a natural conversation piece and a fun gift idea for anyone with a weakness for sweet, culinary spirit interpretations.

History & Background

Van Meers Stroopwafel liqueur builds on a Dutch confectionery tradition dating back to 18th-century Gouda, where bakers first began pressing two thin waffle layers together around a caramel syrup filling. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the stroopwafel became one of the Netherlands' most recognizable exports, and the liqueur is a more recent attempt to translate that distinctive caramel-waffle flavor into spirit form. The Van Meers name signals a Dutch, craft-driven origin in keeping with the stroopwafel's own history.
