Benromach Gin

Benromach Distillery was founded in 1898, closed in 1983, and was revived by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail, who today also put the distillery's expertise to use making gin. With only two people involved in actual production, Benromach is likely Speyside's smallest distillery. The hands-on approach that defines the whisky clearly carries over into the gin.

About Benromach Gin

With only two people involved in actual production, Benromach is likely Speyside's smallest distillery, and the hands-on approach that defines the whisky carries over into the gin. For newcomers, it's an approachable, well-balanced gin with a story behind it; for connoisseurs, a rare example of a whisky distillery translating its classic Speyside philosophy directly into gin production.

History & Background

Benromach Distillery was founded in 1898 but was forced to close again in 1983 due to the struggling industry and low interest in whisky at the time. Fortunately, independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail chose to buy the distillery and renovate what remained, installing new equipment. After roughly five years of work, the distillery was ready to make whisky again, with the stated goal of hitting the old, classic Speyside style - a philosophy that has since also shaped the distillery's gin venture.

Production & Style

Gin production draws on the same hands-on distilling philosophy as the whisky, with a minimal team and a focus on craft over volume.

Signature Style

Hands-on, Classic, Scottish
Classic juniper character shaped by the same precision and care that defines Benromach's award-winning whisky.
