Using Himanthalia elongata seaweed as its signatory ingredient, this gin has a distinct, yet mild maritime flavour. Seaweed is a super sustainable botanical, as it is abundant around the islands in the middle of the North Atlantic. Smoothed with rhubarb and other local botanicals creates a refreshing sipping gin.

Faer Isles Gin is the flagship product from Faer Isles Distillery in Vestmanna in the Faroe Islands. The gin uses wild, local botanicals such as seaweed and crowberry, and has become the distillery's best-known export since its launch.

History & Background

Faer Isles Distillery was founded by local whisky and gin enthusiasts and financed through crowdfunding with over 600 local shareholders. The gin was the distillery's first commercial product, launched while its whisky was still maturing in casks.

Production & Style

The gin is distilled with Faroese seaweed as one of its more unusual botanicals, together with juniper and other North Atlantic plants, giving it a salty, maritime character that is hard to find elsewhere.
