The 18-year is the pinnacle of Flor de Caña's hierarchy, the edition where the house shows just how long Nicaraguan rum can wait to become perfect.
Expert description
Ron Flor de Caña 18 Year is a Rum from Nicaragua, matured for 18 years in American oak casks, bottled at 40%.
The rum comes from the Flor de Caña distillery in Chichigalpa, at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano. The 18-year is the house's most matured standard release and builds on the Centenario 12 Year with a further six years of maturation, delivering a markedly deeper, rounder and more velvety profile. It is a rum made for quiet enjoyment rather than cocktails, with a complexity that needs time to unfold.

Did you know?
Flor de Caña itself recommends letting the rum breathe in the glass for a few minutes before the first sip, precisely to give the complex aromas time to fully open up.
