Centenario means centennial, and although the rum is not a hundred years old, the name hints at the ambition behind Flor de Caña's older expressions.
Expert description
Ron Flor de Caña Centenario 12 Year is a Rum from Nicaragua, distilled five times and matured for 12 years in American oak casks, bottled at 40%.
The rum comes from the Flor de Caña distillery in Chichigalpa, at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano, where the hot, mineral-rich climate accelerates maturation. Centenario 12 Year builds on the house's 7-year Gran Reserva with five extra years of maturation, delivering a deeper, more complex profile with pronounced notes of dried orange peel, apple and baking spice on top of the classic caramel and vanilla base.
