About Kintyre Gin

Kintyre Gin is distilled by Beinn an Tuirc Distillers on the Torrisdale Castle Estate on the Kintyre peninsula, close to the whisky stronghold of Campbeltown. The gin is known for its deep commitment to sustainability, with the distillery's own hydro-electric plant powering the still and a tree planted for every case sold.

History & Background

Beinn an Tuirc Distillers was founded in 2016 by brothers Niall and Kenny Macalister Hall and Niall's wife Emma, on the Torrisdale Castle Estate, which has been in the family's ownership since 1872. The first bottle of Kintyre Gin rolled off the line in 2017. The distillery is named after Beinn an Tuirc, which in Gaelic means "Boar's Mountain" and is the highest point on Kintyre.

Production & Style

The gin is made from 12 carefully selected botanicals, including iris, angelica root, Icelandic moss, pepper and lemon peel. The still is powered by the estate's own hydro-electric plant, reflecting the distillery's overall philosophy of sustainable production.

Signature Style

Earthy, Botanical, Fresh
The taste offers juniper, an earthy tone from angelica root and Icelandic moss, and a fresh touch of citrus, giving the gin a distinct Scottish landscape character.
