Tanqueray Gin

The son of generations of clergymen chose, against family tradition, to enter the spirits trade. Charles Tanqueray founded his distillery in London in 1830, and his square, green bottle has since become one of the world's most recognizable gin symbols. Nearly 200 years later, the recipe still follows the same line laid down by the outsider who broke with his family's expectations.

There was a time when a whisky brand didn't just sit on the shelf — it sat on the ashtray, the glass and the sign behind the bar too.

    About the product

The ashtray carries the Tanqueray logo in a classic style, a genuine piece of bar memorabilia likely dating from the heyday of promotional advertising in the mid-20th century. Today it's mainly of interest as a collector's item and decor piece rather than something to use.

A natural pick for anyone collecting whisky-related merchandise, or for giving a home bar an authentic touch of bar history.

Back when Tanqueray shipped promotional jugs out to bars, it was a small standing ad next to the bottle — today it's a collector's item.

    About the product

This Tanqueray jug is a classic branded water jug, originally made as a promotional item for bars and homes where Tanqueray gin was poured. It's used to serve cold water alongside the drink.

Today it's as much a collector's item for spirits enthusiasts as a piece of everyday bar kit.

About Tanqueray Gin

Tanqueray is one of the world's most iconic London Dry Gin brands, known for its distinctive green, square bottle. The gin is today owned by Diageo and produced according to a recipe dating back to its founding in 1830.

History & Background

Charles Tanqueray founded his distillery in London in 1830, after several generations of clergymen in his family, making him something of an outsider by choosing the spirits industry. The brand has since developed into one of the most recognisable and best-selling gin names in the world.

Production & Style

The gin is distilled using the classic London Dry method with just four botanicals - juniper, coriander, angelica root, and liquorice root - giving it a clean, focused flavour profile.

Signature Style

Dry, Crisp, Juniper-Driven
The flavour offers a classic, dry juniper character with a hint of spice from coriander and angelica root.
