Charles Waugh Tanqueray travelled far to find exotic spices for his gins, and Malacca is his tribute to the southwestern coast of the Malay Peninsula, which he explored in 1839.

Tanqueray Malacca London Dry Gin is an English gin based on a recipe from 1839, bottled at 41.3%.
The gin builds on Tanqueray's classic four botanicals, juniper, coriander seed, angelica root and liquorice root, and adds rose petals, cardamom, black pepper, nutmeg and clove.
The gin was first launched in 1998, becoming a cult favourite among bartenders, but was discontinued in 2001, before being relaunched in 2013 after strong demand.
The combination of spices gives the gin a complex, spiced character that sets it markedly apart from Tanqueray's classic London Dry.

The nose offers exotic oriental spices, citrus and a delicate floral sweetness.

The palate is rich and complex with pink peppercorns and cinnamon, combined with citrus nuances.
