  • Full aquavit bottle with warm golden tones and classic design
    Item no.: 2223336555546-99874

The lunch table's steady companion, distilled behind the old railway walls. In the full 50 cl bottle, caraway, orange and thyme show themselves at their boldest.

    The Expert's Description

Nyborg Aquavit Kommen is an organic aquavit made with caraway from Nyborg Distillery, 40% alcohol.

This is the distillery's full-bodied signature take on classic caraway aquavit, brewed from organic ingredients inside the old DSB railway workshops by Nyborg harbour. With four percentage points more alcohol than the smaller bottle, the spice steps forward more clearly while the sweetness keeps the flavour mild and friendly throughout.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Sweet aroma of orange peel, flowers and fruit, with caraway as the anchor.

    Palate

Classic, yet milder and friendlier than many other caraway snaps, with clear sweetness despite the strength. Caraway pairs beautifully with bright orange notes, while thyme adds depth.

    Finish

    Spiced, pleasant and long-lasting.

Northern Norway voted its favourite into existence when Maquavit was born — an aquavit shaped by public taste rather than a single master distiller's idea.

    The Expert's Description

Arcus Maquavit is a Norwegian aquavit bottled at 40% ABV.

The aquavit is based on a classic Lysholm recipe, though its final composition was decided by a jury of northern Norwegians who worked through roughly 8,000 submitted suggestions for what a true "aquavit of Northern Norway" should taste like. The result is cask-aged for 5 years.

The long cask ageing gives the aquavit a deep golden colour and a round, full character with clear notes of chocolate, vanilla and sherry.

  • Bornholm Spirits Miniature Giftbox Danish Organic 8x5 cl 18-40%
    Item no.: 059763-77789

Bornholm is a rocky island where the sea, the granite and the northern light find their way into everything distilled there. This tasting box gathers eight of Bornholm Spirits' most characterful bottles in miniature — from a rich coffee liqueur to a spiced chili schnapps and a crisp gin. One island, eight glasses.

    Expert's Description

Bornholm Spirits Tasting Box No. 2 is a gift box containing eight 5 cl miniature bottles of schnapps, dram, coffee liqueur and gin from the Danish producer Bornholm Spirits, with ABV ranging from 18% to 40%.

The brand is run by three friends who bought Den Bornholmske Spritfabrik in Nexø in 2021 and carried on the factory's craft, which stretches back more than a century. Spirit production on Bornholm dates back to 1855, when a steam distillery in Hasle first made aquavit on the island. Today, Bornholm Spirits' range holds more than 30 organic products, and the tasting box has become one of the easiest ways to meet all of them at once.

The box holds Special Edition 1 – Rhubarb & Star Anise, a light, summery schnapps created with chef Casper Sobczyk. Alongside it sits Brew Coffee Liqueur, a full-bodied liqueur with notes of rum and vanilla, and Bornholmer Sevablødda, a cherry dram made from an old 1908 recipe. No. 3 Fig Schnapps and No. 8 Chili & Honey bring the spicier side of the range, while the final three bottles — Gin Bornholm Sunset, Gin Bornholm Cucumber & Lemon and Gin Bornholm Berries Gin Liqueur — carry the tasting into gin territory.

All eight products are organic and made with Bornholm's own water, drawn from bedrock that has settled for billions of years. The box comes with a cocktail card, pairing each bottle with its own drink recipe.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The aromas cover a lot of ground here — roasted coffee and brown sugar in Brew, tart cherries with a whisper of clove in Sevablødda, and rhubarb with sweet star anise in Special Edition 1. The gins bring cucumber, citrus and fresh berries.

    Palate

On the palate the box swings between sweet and spiced: the roundness of honey in No. 8, the silky sweetness of fig in No. 3, and a gentle burn of chili that ties it all together. The gins are drier and fresher, with a clear juniper backbone.

    Finish

The finish shifts from bottle to bottle — soft and creamy on the coffee liqueur, a light spiced bite on the schnapps, and a clean, refreshing close on the gins.

    Item no.: 2222786539-25

Long pepper carries a quiet hum that slowly wakes in the glass — a spiced pulse from distant trade routes, met by Copenhagen craftsmanship. The aroma unfolds like low autumn light over the Øresund, warm and unexpected all at once.

    The Expert's Description

Copenhagen Distillery Long Pepper is a Danish aquavit bottled at 41% ABV.

The bottle comes from Copenhagen Distillery, an experimental craft distillery founded in 2014 in the Danish capital, working with organically certified wheat and barley in its spirits. The Long Pepper expression builds on classic aquavit made with dill, but adds an extra layer of exotic character through long pepper (Piper longum) — a spice that reached the Nordics via ancient trade routes long before round pepper became common in European kitchens.

The result is a soft, fruity aquavit where the anise-like sweetness of dill meets the mild, warm spice of long pepper, while hints of lemon zest and black tea add depth and freshness. It is an aquavit that respects tradition while still moving a step further.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Gentle and aromatic with dill, a touch of lemon zest and a whisper of black tea that gives the nose a light, herbal character.

    Palate

    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-1972724

Golden in the glass, with the scent of fresh dill and ripened grain — D Aurum wears its name with good reason. Born from a classic recipe, it is finished on oak casks, where time leaves its quiet mark.

    The Expert's Description

D Aurum Gylden Dild is a Danish aquavit at 40% ABV, built on the recipe behind D-Argentum.

Behind the bottle stands a Danish aquavit producer that lets grain spirit and fresh dill steep together before the aquavit rests on oak casks. It is this ageing that gives the spirit its golden hue and its round, gently sweet character — without added sugar or artificial colouring. The result bridges the traditional dill-led style with the depth only wood can add.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Fresh dill meets sweet notes of vanilla and a touch of toasted oak, carried by a light sweetness from the ripe grain.

    Palate

Round and full-bodied with clear dill up front, followed by warm oak tones, a hint of caramel and a lightly spiced finish.

    Finish

Long and mild, with lingering notes of oak and dill that slowly fade into a dry, clean close.

  • Bottle of Faer Isles North Atlantic Akvavit Cask Matured from the Faroe Islands
    Item no.: 056669-7441

On the Faroe Islands, where the sea rarely lies still, Faer Isles Distillery crafts spirits that taste of rock, seaweed and wind. North Atlantic Akvavit Cask Matured is the distillery's cask-aged take on akvavit — raw, mineral-driven and far from the familiar notes of the lunch table.

    The Expert's Description

Faer Isles Distillery North Atlantic Akvavit Cask Matured is a Faroese Akvavit aged in cask and bottled at 42%. The distillery is based in Vestmanna on Streymoy and was founded in 2021 by Bogi Karbech Mouritsen and Dánial Hoydal, who set out to use the North Atlantic's harsh, damp climate for slow, complex maturation.

This small batch expression is made with wild angelica root and stalk, hand-harvested on the cliffs around Vestmanna, adding a mild, green spiciness. Alongside it sits North Atlantic seaweed, which gives the akvavit an unmistakably maritime character and a mineral depth rarely found in Danish or Swedish akvavits. Cask maturation rounds everything off, adding structure and complexity before the spirit is bottled at 42%.

North Atlantic Akvavit won gold in the Aquavit category at The Spirits Business, where the judges singled out a dry, caraway-forward character on the palate — a mark of how Faer Isles' terroir-driven approach carves out its own space in the North Atlantic spirits world.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Angelica and a touch of green anise, carried on a salty scent of sea-harvested weed.

    Palate

Spiced caraway meets mineral depth from the seaweed, dry and focused with no excess sweetness.

    Finish

    Item no.: 056669-7443

Out on the outer skerries of the Faroe Islands grows a seaweed that smells of truffle and tastes of the ocean itself. For a few weeks each year, when the aroma peaks, divers descend into the cold North Atlantic to pick it by hand. That is the raw, earthy core of this akvavit from Vestmanna.

    The Expert's Description

Faer Isles Distillery North Atlantic Akvavit Ocean Truffle is an akvavit from the Faroe Islands bottled at 43.4% ABV.

The bottle comes from Faer Isles Distillery in Vestmanna, a small distillery in the middle of the North Atlantic founded in 2021 by, among others, Bogi Mouritsen and Dánial Hoydal. The distillery's philosophy is simple: whatever can be sourced locally on the islands should end up in the bottle, and this akvavit is no exception.

The defining botanical is Ocean Truffle, the Faroese name for the seaweed species Vertebrata lanosa. It grows attached to other seaweed along the coast and cannot be farmed or machine-harvested - only divers can find and pick it, and only during a short window around February and March, when its aroma peaks. Faer Isles is the only distillery in the world using Ocean Truffle in an akvavit, and one of just two spirits producers globally working with the plant at all. Because the amount of seaweed is limited by how much the divers can bring up from the cold water, the akvavit is made in small, limited batches.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Earthy and lightly saline, with a hint of mushroom and truffle mingling with cool sea air.

    Palate

Full-bodied and umami-driven, where the fungal Ocean Truffle meets a touch of herbs and salt.

    Finish

Angelica grows wild across most of the Faroe Islands, in rock crevices and along the hillsides where the salty wind never really stops. Its root smells sweetly of anise, its stem fresh and green. Together with a touch of seaweed, it becomes the unaged akvavit from Vestmanna that the distillery itself calls Hvonn.

    The Expert's Description

Faer Isles Distillery North Atlantic Akvavit Small Batch is an akvavit from the Faroe Islands bottled at 39.8% ABV.

This is the unaged, non-cask-matured base akvavit from Faer Isles Distillery in Vestmanna - as distinct from the distillery's cask-matured version. The lead botanical is Angelica, known locally as kvan, which grows all over the islands and has traditionally been used in Faroese food and medicine. The distillery uses both the root, which gives a mild, anise-like character, and the stem, which adds green freshness. As in all of Faer Isles' spirits, seaweed also features, adding a maritime touch to this otherwise traditional Nordic spirit.

The akvavit has picked up international recognition, winning a silver medal at the London Spirits Competition in 2023 and a gold medal at the Speciality Masters in 2022.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Anise-like sweetness from the Angelica root, combined with green freshness and a hint of salty sea air.

    Item no.: 05222-754

Every Danish lunch table has its own akvavit, but Falkendal Snaps Akvavit is built for those who care about traditional craft. On the farm in Kagerup, dill seed and caraway meet at an unhurried, deliberate pace, far removed from the speed of industrial production.

    The Expert's Description

Falkendal Snaps Akvavit is a Danish Akvavit from Thornæs Distillery, bottled at 40%. It is the distillery's take on the classic Danish lunch-table akvavit, where dill seed and caraway come together in a familiar but carefully balanced composition. Thornæs Distillery is based on the Falkendal farm in Kagerup near Helsinge, where founder Torben Thornæs Andersen has been distilling in a converted horse stable since 2019.

In this expression, the akvavit is spiced with a touch of lemon for freshness and a whisper of fennel that ties the spices together. The final layer comes from locally harvested flower honey from the countryside around Græsted, adding a gentle sweetness underneath that rounds the akvavit off, even for drinkers who normally find akvavit too sharp.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Dill and caraway lead the way, with a touch of citrus and a faint sweetness of honey sitting behind them.

    Palate

A spiced meeting of caraway and dill, rounded off by flower honey and a hint of fennel that holds it all together.

    Item no.: 222275555-7743

In the forest around Farre grow the same nettles that once led a former communications professional to think of his mother's smoked cheese and start a distillery. Brændenældesnaps is the purest distillation of that story.

    The Expert's Description

Fary Lochan Brændenældesnaps is a Danish snaps bottled at 36% ABV from the Fary Lochan distillery in Farre near Give.

The nettle sits at the very core of Fary Lochan's identity. It was the scent of his mother's smoked cheese from his childhood on Funen that led founder Jens-Erik Jørgensen to gather fresh nettles in the forest and use them to smoke his first batch of whisky malt instead of traditional peat. The same signature plant returns here, used directly in a snaps.

The nettles for this snaps are picked in Farre's own forest, close to the distillery, giving a green, slightly sharp character the distillery itself describes as the taste of Danish forest. It's a noticeably different snaps from the sweet, floral bottles in the range, with a more earthy, raw profile.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Green, slightly sharp aroma of fresh nettles with a trace of damp forest floor.

    Palate

Two years in a used Laphroaig cask gave this snaps a smoky character usually reserved for Scotch whisky – born as fresh nettle snaps, matured into something else entirely.

    The Expert's Description

Fary Lochan Fadlagret Snaps Dansk Akvavit is a Danish aquavit from the distillery in Farre near Give, bottled at 47% ABV.

The spirit starts life as Fary Lochan's fresh nettle snaps, which then spends 2 years resting in a used Laphroaig cask. The cask, previously home to a Scotch single malt, gives the snaps a distinct smoky character and a depth that points straight toward whisky.

It is one of the clearest examples of how Fary Lochan bridges its whisky craft with the more everyday snaps tradition – the same cask-ageing philosophy, applied to an herb-based spirit.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Smoky and slightly peaty, with an underlying sweetness from the nettle and a hint of aged oak.

    The Expert's Description

Fary Lochan Fadlagret Aquavit Danish Snaps is a Danish aquavit from the distillery in Farre near Give, bottled at 42% ABV.

Like the distillery's other cask-aged snaps, this one starts as Fary Lochan's fresh nettle snaps. But the path here is different: the cask is French oak that previously held red wine, and a full 4 years in this cask gives the aquavit a pronounced sweetness and a unique character that still recalls whisky, but in its own particular way.

The result is a softer, sweeter cask-aged snaps than the distillery's Laphroaig-aged version – two different roads to the same destination: showing what time in a cask can do to a simple nettle snaps.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Sweet and round, with notes of red wine, dark berries and a hint of French oak.

    Palate

Soft and full-bodied, where the red wine cask's sweetness meets the nettle's green base and a light vanilla from the oak.

    The Expert's Description

Fary Lochan Valnødsnaps is a Danish snaps bottled at 36% ABV from the Fary Lochan distillery in Farre near Give.

Fary Lochan builds its snaps range around a single, clear ingredient theme per bottle, the same philosophy behind the distillery's well-known single malt whisky, where every choice of raw material and method should be clearly felt in the glass. In Valnødsnaps, it's fresh walnuts that set the course. They give a round, clean nutty flavour, which the distillery itself highlights as a snaps that's welcome to stand out on the lunch table once the more traditional akvavits have already made the rounds.

Named after a Trondheim trader who set an entire aquavit tradition adrift over 200 years ago. Milder than its siblings, but carrying the same story in its blood.

    The Expert's Description

Fru Catharina Lysholm Norsk Akvavit is a Norwegian aquavit at 38% ABV, part of the Lysholm family.

The aquavit is named after Catharina Lysholm, an enterprising businesswoman who, together with her brother Heinrich, ran a trading house in Trondheim in the early 1800s. On her initiative, the ship Trondhjems Prøve sailed to the East Indies in 1805-07, a voyage that was later found to have matured the aquavit on board. That discovery laid the foundation for the whole Linie tradition the rest of the Lysholm family builds on. Fru Catharina is the mildest of the aquavits, with a lower strength and a softer, rounder character.

  • Bottle of golden akvavit with sea buckthorn berry label
    Item no.: 22227865378-8265

Sea buckthorn bushes glow orange along the Danish coast in autumn, tart and tough enough to withstand both wind and salt water. That same stubborn freshness is bottled in this akvavit.

    The Expert's Description

Fur Gylden is a Danish akvavit at 35% ABV, spiced with sea buckthorn and produced by Fur Bryghus on the island of Fur in the Limfjord.

The akvavit is part of Fur Bryghus' exclusive snaps series, brewed together with the micro-distillery Braunstein in Køge. Sea buckthorn gives the golden drops their characteristic colour and a tart, sweet berry character that sets it apart from a more classic caraway or dill akvavit.

Fur Bryghus uses water drawn from the island itself, filtered through layers of moler, the pale, mineral-rich clay stone Fur is known for far beyond the Limfjord.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Tart, fruity aroma of sea buckthorn berries, with a light trace of honey and yellow apples.

    Palate

Round and golden in style, where the sea buckthorn's acidity balances a soft sweetness, while the alcohol gives an even, warming undertone.

    Finish

Medium length with a tart, berry-driven finish that slowly gives way to a light spiced warmth.
