About Argala Gin

Argala is an Italian distillery, started in 2011 by friends Enrico and Piero, inspired by their hiking trips in the mountains of Piedmont. For newcomers it's an aromatic, herb-driven gin with distinct alpine character; for connoisseurs it's interesting that the distillery has, since 2018, grown its own herbs and flowers, giving them full control over ingredient quality from field to bottle.

History & Background

Enrico and Piero founded Argala in 2011 with a shared passion for Piedmont's mountain landscapes and a wish to translate their many hikes into spirits. At first they sourced herbs and botanicals from local suppliers, but from 2018 they began growing most of the herbs and flowers used in production themselves. Today the distillery makes not only gin but also liqueur, pastis and amari, all tied together by the same alpine inspiration.

Production & Style

Juniper is distilled alongside self-grown herbs and flowers from Piedmont, an approach that gives Argala a close link between local cultivation and the finished product.

Since 2018 Argala has grown all the herbs and flowers used in production themselves rather than buying from outside suppliers, an unusual degree of self-sufficiency for a gin house.
