Longueteau Rum

From field to bottle with no middlemen: Longueteau has grown its own sugar cane on Guadeloupe and distilled it into rum since 1895. Five generations of the same family have refused to sell, giving the house's rum a rare, unbroken identity.

About Longueteau

Longueteau is one of Guadeloupe's most respected agricole distilleries and one of the few still entirely family-owned. For newcomers that means a rum with a fresh, grassy character quite different from molasses-based rum styles; for collectors it's notable that the entire process, from field to bottle, happens on the distillery's own land, giving the house's rum a rare, traceable identity that few rum brands in the world can match.

History & Background

The Longueteau family began distilling rum in 1895 on Guadeloupe and has run the distillery continuously through five generations since. Unlike many other Caribbean houses bought up by international spirits giants, Longueteau remains in family hands.

Production & Style

The rum is distilled directly from fresh sugarcane juice using the agricole method, giving it a fresh, grassy character quite different from molasses rum.

Signature Style

Fresh, Grassy, Herbaceous
The rum offers a fresh, grassy character with a herbaceous finish that clearly carries the mark of the distillery's own sugarcane.

Longueteau grows most of the sugarcane the distillery uses itself, making the house one of the few with full control over production from field to bottle.
