    Item no.: 22227865421-8008

A Highland cask from Ben Nevis is not an obvious neighbour for Dominican rum. Yet that is exactly the combination that gives Summum its character.

    Expert description

Ron Summum Ben Nevis Malt Whisky Cask Finish 12 Years is a Rum from the Dominican Republic, matured 12 years using the solera method and finished in casks from Ben Nevis Single Malt Whisky, bottled at 43%.

The rum builds on the house's solera-matured 12-year blend, after which it is finished in used casks from the Scottish Highland distillery Ben Nevis. The whisky cask's oak, smoke and earthiness melt together with the rum's natural sweetness, creating a character reminiscent of Islay-style whiskies like Laphroaig, but with a gentler, sweeter frame.

Medium length, with a spiced bite at the end.
