History & Background
Appleton Estate sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica and is one of the world's oldest continuously operating rum distilleries, with roots stretching back to 1749. Hearts Collection came about through a partnership between Appleton Estate and Velier, who since the 2000s have rediscovered and celebrated old Caribbean rum styles through their "single estate" releases, and the series includes vintages from several of the distillery's most significant years.
Production & Style
The rum is distilled from sugar cane grown on the Appleton estate itself and matured in Jamaica's tropical climate, where rapid ageing delivers intense character in relatively few years. Each Hearts Collection release is a single vintage, bottled undiluted and unfiltered at high strength.
