Appleton Estate Hearts Collection 1995 is a Jamaican Single Cask Rum distilled from molasses on a Forsyths pot still, matured for 25 years and bottled at 63%.
The rum was distilled in 1995 at Appleton Estate and selected by Velier as part of the acclaimed Hearts Collection, curated jointly by Appleton Estate's master blender Joy Spence and Velier founder Luca Gargano. Only 3,000 bottles were produced of this vintage, known for its complex journey from tannic, green character to a warm, honeyed sweetness.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Monumental and pronounced with tannic, green wood notes that evolve through medicinal and resinous accents into a rich, gourmand profile with confit fruit, creamy almonds and a refreshing touch of menthol.
Palate
Begins with biting, astringent tannins that quickly transform into a soft, honeyed sweetness with wood, tannins, a hint of fruit, leather as well as mint and orange.
Finish
Wood and bitter elements in the finish alongside an earthy, fresh mint note.
