History & Background

The vineyards around Cortona have been cultivated since antiquity, but the modern Santa Cristina name only emerged in 1946, when the Antinori house released its first vintage from the old villa of the same name. Production has since grown significantly, and a new, modern winery was completed in 2006, built with a deliberately minimal footprint on the beautiful surrounding landscape. Today Santa Cristina is part of the Antinori family's portfolio, serving as the house's broad, accessible face to the world.
