Santa Cristina

Santa Cristina was born of that same soil in 1946 and still carries the name of the villa where its first vintage was bottled. Expert's Description

Santa Cristina Bianco Umbria IGT is a White Wine from Umbria in Italy made from the Grechetto, Procanico and Chardonnay/Viognier grapes, bottled at 10.5% ABV.

About Santa Cristina

From Santa Cristina's winery in Tuscany, overlooking the historic town of Cortona, wine of high quality has been produced since antiquity, drunk by kings and queens, princes and popes. The first Santa Cristina vintage was released in 1946, and today the name is one of Italy's best-selling quality wines internationally. For newcomers, Santa Cristina is a reliable, easy-drinking introduction to Italian wine, while connoisseurs appreciate the historic terroir and the house's ability to deliver consistent quality vintage after vintage.

History & Background

The vineyards around Cortona have been cultivated since antiquity, but the modern Santa Cristina name only emerged in 1946, when the Antinori house released its first vintage from the old villa of the same name. Production has since grown significantly, and a new, modern winery was completed in 2006, built with a deliberately minimal footprint on the beautiful surrounding landscape. Today Santa Cristina is part of the Antinori family's portfolio, serving as the house's broad, accessible face to the world.

Production & Style

The wines are made primarily from Sangiovese grapes, grown on Tuscany's rolling vineyards.

Signature Style

Fruity, Rounded, Cherry
The flavor offers a fruity, rounded character with clear notes of cherry.
