Admiral's Old J rum is named in reference to British naval admiral Edward Vernon, known by the nickname "Old Grogram" or "Old Grog", the man who in 1740 introduced the famous "grog" - diluted rum - as a daily ration for British naval sailors. The brand builds on this maritime rum tradition with a modern, spiced interpretation, adding sugar, vanilla and lime to the Caribbean rum base. Developing the final flavour profile reportedly took more than 60 attempts before the team behind Old J was satisfied with the balance of sweetness and spice.
