About Ron Mulata Rum

Ron Mulata, also known as Palma Mulata, is inspired by Cuban identity and culture, where the figure of the Mulata has stood through history as a symbol of beauty and pride. The rum is distilled exclusively from Cuban sugarcane syrup by master distiller Tecnoazucar and aged in white American oak barrels, with a range spanning from the light Silver Dry to the full-bodied, complex Elixir de Cuba with notes of dried fruit and nuts. Collectors are drawn to the older Gran Reserva editions, while newcomers get an authentic Cuban rum experience at an affordable price.

History & Background

The Mulata trademark was launched in 1993 as a tribute to Cuban culture and identity, where the image of the Mulata woman has for generations represented the island's beauty and pride in folklore and art. The rum was from the start produced by Tecnoazucar using original, local methods and exclusively Cuban sugarcane, during a period when Cuba, following the fall of the Soviet Union, was experiencing major economic upheaval. Despite the difficult conditions, the brand managed to establish itself solidly in the local market before later being exported internationally and finding its way to rum lövers far from the Caribbean.
