Nøgne Ø calls itself "the uncompromising brewery," and Dark Horizon 8 Whisky Edition is the proof - a beer not made to be drunk quickly, but to be sat with quietly.
Expert description of Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon 8 Whisky Edition Imperial Coffee Stout
Dark Horizon 8 Whisky Edition is a massive, intense and uncompromising Imperial Coffee Stout at 16% from the Norwegian brewery Nøgne Ø - one of the heaviest and most complex beers to come out of Norway. This special edition is conditioned with whisky character, adding even deeper layers of warmth, smoke and barrel presence. It's a beer to be sipped slowly and enjoyed as a dessert in its own right.
Nøgne Ø was founded in 2002 in Grimstad and is considered Norway's leading and largest craft brewery, with several rankings among the world's best breweries. The name means "the naked isle" and is taken from Henrik Ibsen's poem "Terje Vigen" - a reference that underscores the brewery's raw, uncompromising approach to flavour.
