Bassermann Jordan

A German wine house in the Pfalz, where vines have grown in the soil since 1718 and the name Riesling is almost synonymous with the family's work. Across generations the estate has tended grapes on some of Pfalz's most celebrated vineyard sites around Deidesheim. In 2002 entrepreneur Achim Niederberger took over the estate and gave it new life, before passing away far too soon - though his vision lives on in every bottle.

About Bassermann-Jordan

Bassermann-Jordan is a German wine house from the Pfalz region, with family roots dating back to the 1700s and status as one of the region's most historic Riesling producers.

History & Background

Bassermann-Jordan is one of the Pfalz region's most historic wine houses, with family roots that, according to the house's own records, date back to the 1700s. The house was formed when two old winegrowing families, Bassermann and Jordan, were united through marriage in the 19th century, laying the foundation for one of Germany's largest private wine estates. Across generations the house has specialized in Riesling from some of Pfalz's finest vineyards. Today Bassermann-Jordan is regarded as one of Germany's leading names in classic, terroir-driven Riesling.

Production & Style

The grapes grow in the Pfalz's sunny, relatively mild climate, giving the wines a fresh acidity and a clear varietal character.

Signature Style

Fresh, Mineral, Elegant
The wine offers a fresh, mineral character with an elegant, dry to off-dry finish.
