History & Background

The story goes that Paul Boutinot was buying wine for his parents' restaurant in 1980, but was disappointed with the selection available on the English market and travelled to France in search of better quality wines. He quickly built a strong reputation as a wine specialist and went on to help smaller, lesser-known producers bring their wines to the international market. What began as private wine buying grew over the decades into one of Britain's most respected independent wine houses, with its own portfolio and close producer relationships across continents.
