Widow Jane Whiskey

Widow Jane is one of the newer distilleries in the USA that many whisky enthusiasts have been closely watching. The distillery is uniquely located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York. The local area has a huge influence on the distillery, including the exceptionally high-quality water sourced from the legendary Rosendale mines, a small piece upstate. These mines have supplied limestone for landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building. Wow! In fact, it's from one of these mines that the distillery takes its name, Widow Jane!

Color: Deep amber Aroma: The aroma is wonderfully thick and sweet, densely packed with notes of both dark caramel, maple syrup and light tobacco, cherries and peanuts. Tasting notes: Definitely a nice concentration on the palate, but without the alcohol being too overpowering. The notes consist of cherry, almond, vanilla and burnt oak.

Widow Jane Rye American Oak & Applewood is an unusual but fantastic whiskey. The whiskey itself is distilled from a mash of predominantly rye with a small amount of malted barley, and then aged in bourbon barrels. In the middle of the aging process, apple wood staves are added, which contributes to the unique aroma and flavor. Color: Golden. Aroma: The aroma offers vanilla, cinnamon, clove and a hint of apple blossom. Tasting notes: Nice pleasant freshness on the palate, with notes of oak, vanilla, baked apple and orange peel. The finish is medium-bodied and fruity.
