Brouwerij Boon

Frank Boon founded his brewery in Lembeek in 1975 with a clear mission: to save spontaneously fermented lambic from disappearing. Today Brouwerij Boon is one of the leading producers of authentic geuze, brewed in old oak vessels called foeders and blended with precision between young and old vintages. This is Belgian beer history, preserved drop by drop.

In Lembeek outside Brussels, Boon has aged lambic in oak barrels for decades, and to mark the brewery's 50th anniversary they have blended some of their finest barrels into a celebration in bottle form.

Expert description of Boon Mariage Parfait Golden Anniversary Edition

Mariage Parfait is Boon's prestige range of spontaneously fermented lambic, and the Golden Anniversary Edition was created specifically to mark the brewery's 50th anniversary. Boon holds the world's largest lambic stock, over 2.1 million litres spread across 161 oak barrels, and this edition is blended with respect for the classic geuze tradition, uniting young and older lambics in a single bottle.

The high strength of 10% adds extra intensity and body, without compromising the tart, wine-like character that defines spontaneously fermented beer. The barrel ageing contributes subtle wood notes and a structure that lifts the beer beyond an everyday geuze.

About Brouwerij Boon

Brouwerij Boon is a Belgian brewery from Lembeek, founded in 1975 by Frank Boon, known for authentic lambic and geuze. For newcomers, the tart, fruity style is a surprising introduction to Belgium's beer heritage; for connoisseurs, Boon is the very reference point for spontaneous fermentation, making bottles like Oude Geuze and Geuze Mariage Parfait essential acquaintances.

History & Background

Brouwerij Boon was founded by Frank Boon, who in 1975 took over an older lambic brewery in Lembeek outside Brussels. At the time the number of authentic lambic breweries was declining sharply, and Boon became a central figure in saving and carrying forward the tradition. He later expanded production by taking over several historic brewing facilities in the region. Today Brouwerij Boon is one of the most respected and widely exported lambic producers in the world.

Production & Style

The beers are spontaneously fermented with wild yeast strains from the air, a method that gives the characteristic sour, complex lambic profile.

Signature Style

Sour, Complex, Wild
The flavor offers a sour, complex character from the spontaneous fermentation.
