The idea reportedly began in a bar in Karlsruhe, where graphic designer Heiko Hoos decided to bring his vision of the perfect gin to life, one small batch at a time.

Heiko London Dry Gin is a German London Dry Gin handmade by Heiko Hoos in Karlsruhe and bottled at 44.4%.
The gin is distilled in microbatches of around 120 bottles at a time, with each bottle hand-filled and numbered, making every bottle a unique piece.
Botanicals include juniper, marjoram, lemon balm, sweet fennel, chamomile and pine buds, together creating a well-balanced flavour distilled according to classic London Dry principles.
The gin won silver at the International Spirits Competition in 2015 and received the Best Innovation award at Cocktail Spirits in Paris for one of the best new releases of 2014-15.
Tasting notes
Nose
The nose is herbal with marjoram, lemon balm and a hint of chamomile.
Palate
The palate is well-balanced with juniper, fennel and pine buds.
Finish
The finish is clean and herbal.
