Saffron Gin

A French gin with a golden color from saffron, built on an old Victorian recipe from the 1800s. Saffron was once used to give gin a characteristic golden hue, a style that nearly disappeared. Saffron Gin revives that lost tradition, one glass at a time.

About Saffron Gin

Saffron Gin is a French gin, naturally colored golden by saffron and distilled according to an old Victorian recipe from the 1800s. For newcomers, it's a visually striking, spiced gin unlike most others on the shelf; for connoisseurs, one of the few brands keeping the nearly forgotten Victorian saffron-gin style alive.

History & Background

Saffron Gin is produced by the French house Gabriel Boudier, founded in Dijon in 1874 and today one of France's oldest family-owned spirits houses. The recipe draws on a Victorian tradition from 19th-century England, where saffron was occasionally used to naturally colour gin golden, long before dyes and modern botanicals became the norm. By reviving this nearly forgotten style, Boudier blends French distilling craftsmanship with a piece of British spirits history that would otherwise have been long forgotten.

Production & Style

The gin is distilled with juniper and classic botanicals, infused with saffron, which lends both colour and a light spiced note.

Signature Style

Spiced, Golden, Aromatic
