To celebrate 25 years as a band, Volbeat has put together a rum that brings together material from two of the rum world's heaviest names, Diamond Distillery in Guyana and Clarendon Estate in Jamaica.
Expert Description
Volbeat XXV Rum Limited Edition is a Caribbean Rum blending rum from Jamaica and Guyana, bottled at 43%.
The rum is composed of three Guyanese rums, distilled at Diamond Distillery between 2001 and 2014, and a 2015 Jamaican pot still rum, distilled at Clarendon Estate under National Rums of Jamaica. The blend was composed at The Main Rum Company in Liverpool by master blender Ian Smith, working closely with Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen, who was involved in both tasting and the production process. The rum was released to mark the band's 25th anniversary and is limited to 2,300 numbered bottles.
The result is a full-bodied, complex rum, where dark Guyanese sweetness meets Jamaican pot still intensity in a long, spiced finish.
