About Caorunn Gin

Caorunn is distilled at Balmenach Distillery in Speyside, where whisky is normally the main event, and it sets itself apart from most Scottish gins by using an original Berry Chamber - a copper drum from an old fruit press - to draw extra finesse from botanicals like rowan berry and dandelion. That makes Caorunn a natural pick for whisky lövers wanting to explore gin without quite leaving the Scottish world behind.

History & Background

Caorunn was created in 2009 by master distiller Simon Buley for Inver House Distillers, also behind several well-known Speyside whiskies. The idea was a gin with a clear Scottish identity rather than another take on classic London Dry. Reusing Balmenach's old 1920s Berry Chamber gave the gin a distillation method no other gin distillery in the world uses.

Production & Style

Five Scottish botanicals - rowan berry, dandelion, apple blossom, heather and wood sorrel - are added to the Berry Chamber drum, where vapour from the main distillation passes gently through them, preserving their delicate aromas rather than boiling them hard.
