Some bottles come straight from the cask, without filtration and without dilution, and this 2008/2019 release from Blackadder is exactly that. A single refill sherry cask, bottled at full strength, delivers a whisky with edge, depth and an intensity that is hard to mistake for anything else.
Expert's description
Glenallachie 2008/2019 Blackadder Raw Cask 11 Year Old is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 63% cask strength by the independent bottler Blackadder. The spirit was distilled on 23 September 2008 and bottled in October 2019 after 11 years of maturation in a single refill sherry butt, cask no. #846.
Blackadder is known for its Raw Cask series, where the whisky is bottled straight from the cask without chill filtration or colouring – and without removing the sediment that naturally settles during maturation. The result is a whisky that stands as close to the distiller's original work as it is possible to get.
Only 589 bottles of this specific release exist, making it a genuine single cask experience from one of Speyside's most talked-about distilleries.

Did you know?
The name "Raw Cask" refers to Blackadder bottling the whisky with the cask's natural sediment still in the bottle – a deliberate choice underscoring how untouched the process remains.
