Paul Delane

Paul Delane Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc de Noirs is the French sparkling wine that breaks expectations: a crémant made almost entirely from red grapes yet pressed so gently it emerges chalk-white and elegant in the glass. It's an overlooked shortcut into Burgundy's sparkling side, far cheaper than Champagne but rooted in the same craftsmanship.

Crémant de Bourgogne is Burgundy's answer to Champagne, made using the same method but from grapes grown further south in France, resulting in an accessible yet elegant sparkling wine.

    Expert's Description

Paul Delane Blanc de Noirs is a Sparkling Wine from Burgundy, France, made from Pinot Noir with an alcohol content of 12%. The wine carries the designation Crémant de Bourgogne AOC and undergoes Traditional Method with secondary fermentation in bottle, just like Champagne. As a Blanc de Noirs, the dark Pinot Noir grapes are gently pressed to extract only the pale juice, giving a white sparkling wine with extra body and character compared to lighter grape varieties.

Paul Delane MAGNUM Blanc de Noirs is a Sparkling Wine from Burgundy, France, made from Pinot Noir with an alcohol content of 12%. Did You Know?

A magnum bottle holds 1.5 litres, equivalent to two standard bottles, and many wine experts believe sparkling wine actually ages better and more slowly in the larger format, since the ratio of air to wine in the bottle is more favourable.

About Paul Delane

Paul Delane is a French house producing crémant, a sparkling wine made using the méthode champenoise outside the Champagne region.

History & Background

Paul Delane is a French house rooted in Burgundy's crémant tradition, where the production method follows the same core principle as Champagne – secondary fermentation in the bottle – but using grapes and terroir from Burgundy instead of Champagne. The Blanc de Noirs style, where dark-skinned grapes are pressed gently and quickly, is a specialty demanding great precision in the cellar to avoid picking up colour from the skins. Burgundy's crémant tradition dates back to the early 20th century, when local producers sought a more affordable alternative to the pricier Champagnes from the north.

Production & Style

The wine is made from regional grape varieties and undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, following the classic champagne method.

Signature Style

Fresh, Tangy, Elegant
The flavour is fresh and elegant, with a tangy, sparkling finish.
