Pinea is one of the names whispered among Ribera del Duero collectors when talk turns to the region's next generation of cult wines - made from 100% Tempranillo from old vines.

    Expert's Description

Pinea 2014 Vintage Ribera del Duero is a Red Wine from Ribera del Duero, Spain made from 100% Tempranillo, bottled at 14.5% ABV.

The wine comes from old vines on the plateau's lean soils, where wide day-to-night temperature swings push the grapes to develop unusual concentration. The 2014 vintage now has 10 years behind it and sits in its mature drinking window, where the oak spice has melted into the fruit. The wine is served at several of Denmark's leading restaurants.
