Mexico's own whisky, made from old corn and old knowledge. Abasolo uses 100% Mexican Cacahuazintle corn, cultivated for over 200 years, and a 4,000-year-old cooking technique never before used in whisky production. Casa Lumbre created it as a challenge to the idea that whisky can only come from Scotland or the USA.

About Abasolo

Abasolo calls itself "El Whisky de México" and was created by Casa Lumbre to challenge the idea that whisky can only come from Scotland or the US.

The name honours Mariano Abasolo, a hero of the Mexican war of independence, and the product is meant as a tribute to Mexican agricultural heritage.

Production & Style

The whisky is made from cacahuazintle, an heirloom Mexican corn variety, first nixtamalized using the same method used for tortillas before being distilled.
