Arette Tequila

Arette is a family-owned tequila from Arandas, one of the two great cradles of Mexican tequila tradition alongside the town of Tequila itself. The Sanchez family has held onto small batches and traditional methods across several generations, rather than large-scale production. That yields a tequila with the sweet, fruity character the high-altitude agave fields of Los Altos are known for, without the heavy international marketing seen at many competitors.

Some tequilas are made to be diluted in a cocktail. Arette Blanco Fuerte 101 isn't one of them. At 50.5%, it's built to carry its full agave character all the way through, whether sipped neat or shaken hard with ice.

    Expert Description

Arette Tequila Blanco Fuerte 101 is a Mexican Blanco Tequila made from 100% agave, bottled at 50.5%.

The Arette brand traces its roots back to 1900 and is now run by the fifth generation of the Orendain family, with Eduardo and Jaime Orendain as master distillers. The tequila is distilled at the historic El Llano distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco – one of the oldest, still family-run distilleries in the region. Fuerte 101 is the stronger expression of the house's Blanco: the name refers to 101 US proof, giving the bottle a notably higher strength than a standard tequila. The agave is grown in the fields surrounding the town of Tequila and traditionally cooked in stone and brick ovens, before undergoing spontaneous fermentation in open-air concrete tanks and double distillation in copper pot stills.

About Arette

Arette is a Mexican tequila from Arandas in Jalisco, produced by the Sanchez family across several generations.

History & Background

Arette is produced by the Sanchez family in the town of Arandas in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, a highland area known for giving agave a sweeter, more fruity character than the lower-lying Tequila valley. The family has run the distillery across several generations and has deliberately stuck to smaller batches and traditional methods rather than large-scale production. Arandas is regarded as one of the two major hubs of the tequila industry, alongside the town of Tequila itself, and has produced several of the industry's most acclaimed houses. Arette has built a solid reputation among tequila connoisseurs for its consistent quality without heavy international marketing.

Production & Style

The agave plants grow in the Los Altos region's high-altitude soil, giving them a sweeter, fruitier character than lowland agave.

Signature Style

Sweet, Fruity, Spiced
The tequila offers a sweet, fruity character with a spiced agave finish.
