Some tequilas are made to be diluted in a cocktail. Arette Blanco Fuerte 101 isn't one of them. At 50.5%, it's built to carry its full agave character all the way through, whether sipped neat or shaken hard with ice.

    Expert Description

Arette Tequila Blanco Fuerte 101 is a Mexican Blanco Tequila made from 100% agave, bottled at 50.5%.

The Arette brand traces its roots back to 1900 and is now run by the fifth generation of the Orendain family, with Eduardo and Jaime Orendain as master distillers. The tequila is distilled at the historic El Llano distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco – one of the oldest, still family-run distilleries in the region. Fuerte 101 is the stronger expression of the house's Blanco: the name refers to 101 US proof, giving the bottle a notably higher strength than a standard tequila. The agave is grown in the fields surrounding the town of Tequila and traditionally cooked in stone and brick ovens, before undergoing spontaneous fermentation in open-air concrete tanks and double distillation in copper pot stills.
