Domaine Aurore Bachelet

In Santenay, south of the famous slopes of Côte de Beaune, a young winemaker named Aurore works the soil her father once taught her to understand. This is Burgundy at its most personal - a daughter's own take on a family's winemaking legacy.

    Item no.: 222276865480-6877

Pommard is known for the most powerful red wines in all of the Côte de Beaune, and vines around 55 years old give this edition a rare concentration.

    Expert's Description

Aurore Bachelet Pommard 2022 is a Red Wine from Burgundy, France made from 100% Pinot Noir, bottled at 13% ABV.

The grapes come from vines around 55 years old, grown in clay and limestone soil. About Domaine Aurore Bachelet

Domaine Aurore Bachelet is located in Santenay, south of Côte de Beaune, and is run by Aurore Bachelet, who returned to her family's Burgundy roots after training in viticulture and oenology. She spent five years working alongside her father, Vincent Bachelet, before starting to build her own domaine, and that experience shows in the precision of the wines. The wines are made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with as little intervention as possible, letting Burgundy's terroir speak for itself - which makes the domaine one to watch for collectors following the region's new generation of winemakers.

History & Background

The Bachelet name runs deep in Burgundy's winemaking history, with the family having farmed small parcels in and around Santenay and Chassagne-Montrachet for generations. Aurore represents the youngest branch of that tradition - she trained formally in viticulture and oenology and added international experience before returning home to learn the craft from her father. After five years as his right hand, she began developing her own domaine, parcel by parcel, guided by the same philosophy of terroir and restraint. That makes Domaine Aurore Bachelet one to watch if you want to see a new generation of Burgundy winemakers take the helm.

Production & Style

The wines are made mainly from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown on Burgundy's classic terroir and vinified following regional tradition.
