    Expert description

Heering Cherry Liqueur is a Danish Fruit liqueur based on cherries, bottled at 24%.

The liqueur was founded in 1818 by Peter F. Heering in Copenhagen and has since been made from natural ingredients with no additives or artificial colouring. The cherries are crushed including the stone, giving the finished liqueur a light, nutty undertone, and the liqueur is matured in oak casks for at least three years before bottling. Heering Cherry Liqueur is world-famous as the original main ingredient in the Singapore Sling, invented at Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

    Taste

The nose is deep and full with dark, ripe cherries. On the palate, Heering Cherry Liqueur is sweet and round with a clear cherry character and a light nutty touch, while the finish is long and full.

About Heering Cherry Liqueur

Heering Cherry Liqueur is a classic Danish cherry liqueur, founded in Copenhagen in the early 1800s and since exported globally. The liqueur is made from real cherries, spices and spirit, and the slow maturation process gives it a rich, full flavour profile of dark cherries, almond and a discreet warmth that balances the sweetness. Because Heering today is a staple ingredient in classic cocktails like the Singapore Sling and Blood and Sand, it's one of the Danish spirits products to have achieved the greatest international recognition - a small piece of Danish history in bars around the world.

History & background

Heering Cherry Liqueur was created by Peter F. Heering in Copenhagen in 1818, and the recipe has remained largely unchanged since. The liqueur gained early royal recognition at the Danish court, giving it a reputation for quality that followed it out into export markets. During the 1900s, Heering became a staple ingredient in international cocktail bars, particularly known from classics like the Singapore Sling, invented at Raffles Hotel in Singapore, and Blood and Sand. More than 200 years after its founding, Heering remains one of the most recognisable Danish spirits products on the world market.
