Whiskymessen 2027

For the 30th time, we're throwing open the doors to Whiskymessen – and that calls for a proper celebration.

30 times of golden drams, sherry casks and good stories by the stands deserve a proper send-off. We've put extra care into the details, so you'll go home with new favourites and an aftertaste that lingers. The VIP guest ticket has also had a service check this year.

There'll be good times at the Exclusive Bar (packed with rare and exciting whisky), bagpipe music from the Green Forest Pipe Band, and tastings from all over the world. What can you expect at Whiskymessen?

In short: a full day of whisky, rum, specialty beer, gin and liqueurs, and enough tastings to make you forget where you parked the car. Most stands offer free tastings, and there's a solid selection of bottles to take home – from the big, familiar names to distilleries you've never heard of (yet). Want to go deeper into the glass? Book a seat at one of our Masterclasses, where experts from Denmark and abroad talk everything from sherry casks to peat smoke while you taste some of the best they have to offer.

The Exclusive Bar is the place to be if you're into the rare and pricier bottles – tastings cost extra here, but in return you get your hands on whisky you rarely see outside an auction. The halls are never quiet – there's a constant hum of good conversation and laughter – and when the Green Forest Pipe Band strikes up, it adds a touch of Scottish Highland atmosphere to the whole thing.

The history of Whiskymessen

The first Whiskymessen was held in 2001 at Parkhallen in Kolding, back then a small fair run by two whisky nerds, Henrik Olsen and Ulrik Bertelsen, who also own Whisky.dk. Along the way, the fair has lived in several places – including Bramdrupdam Hallerne – and spent a period entirely outside the city, before it moved home to Kolding for good and settled into Sydbank Arena. In 2026, around 2,400 guests came through the doors, and in 2027 we open them for the 30th time. It hasn't happened quietly – we've fine-tuned the programme and listened to both guests and exhibitors along the way – but the foundation is the same as in 2001: whisky is meant to be tasted, not just sold.

The local press in Kolding shows up every year, and the story is usually the same: the fair is well attended, the hall is packed, and the mood is high.
