St Magdalene Linlithgow 1982/2009 is a Single Lowland Malt Whisky from the now-closed St Magdalene distillery, distilled in October 1982 and bottled in May 2009 by Chieftains after 26 years of maturation at cask strength of 55%.
The whisky comes from a single sherry butt, cask no. 2219, and retains its natural colour without chill filtration. With only 348 bottles produced, it is a rare representative of a distillery that closed for good in 1983.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Refined and floral with ripe fruit, citrus and light herbs, spiced with leather and a light malt character.
Palate
Full and oily with flowers, dried fruit, citrus and dark chocolate.
Finish
Long, refined and lingering with fruit, spice and floral tones.
