    The winery Bodegas Toro Albalá is located in Aguilar de la Frontera, 50 km south of Córdoba, and was established in 1844 by Antonio Sánchez Prieto in a mill near the town's castle. In 1922, José M. Toro Albalá moved the production to the town's former power station. The power station provides ideal conditions for wine storage with plenty of cellars and underground rooms and corridors. The winery's average production is about 300,000 bottles per year. The cellars house up to 6000 casks with wines of all ages. In recent years, the winery has achieved almost cult status with the release of wines dating back up to 100 years from its cellar.
