In Kolding, Trolden Destilleri & Bryghus distil their gin in tiny 350-litre copper kettles. The sea buckthorn edition gets its tart character from the orange, vitamin-rich berry that grows wild along the Danish coast.
Expert's description
Trolden Copperpot Sea Buckthorn is a Danish gin infused with sea buckthorn and bottled at 40%.
The gin comes from Trolden Distillery in Kolding, which since 2011 has made whisky, rum and gin in small batches, all by hand. The base of the Copperpot range is juniper, elderflower, angelica root and freshly cut lime peel, drawn out through an infusion box inside the copper kettle during distillation.
Sea buckthorn adds a tart, lightly sweet fruitiness to the classic Copperpot base, giving the gin a distinctly Danish coastal character.
