After a period of time in these glass balloons, the rum is transferred to more traditional whisky casks, but casks that have contained South African whisky, which is in fine symbiosis with the South African production. The Nkomazi sugar cane that the rum is made from is grown nearby and helps to give the unique character that Mhoba rum is becoming world famous for. Mhoba Strand 101 gets its name from Kurt Stand, who is a consultant for the company, and also a Dane. He is the creator of this blend, which is composed of 2 parts, namely Select Reserve Glass Cask Rum, which is characterized by being aged in glass balloons. The other part consists of unaged Highest West rum, which has been fermented longer, resulting in a hugely powerful but extremely delicate flavor. Expect tropical fruit, among other things. Mhoba White Pot Stilled High Ester is not like the "regular" white rum from Mhoba. This version comes in different batches, but the difference is also that the fermentation takes longer and uses "thunder", like classic powerful Jamaican rums. However, this one is made from pure sugarcane juice and not molasses. It's distilled at a lower strength, which makes for a more powerful and heavy rum. Fortunately, it's bottled at a high alcohol percentage, so you can really get the flavor.

Michael Bitter is a tribute to the Danish bitter tradition. It encompasses all the qualities a bitter should have with its nuanced range of various ingredients, including angelica root, orris root, tomato flakes, linden flower, and lemon verbena. Michael Bitter tastes more elegant than the more classic bitters, yet it still provides warmth.

The bitter has the unique property of working exceptionally well in the classic cocktail Brandbil. However, this version brings a new and fresh touch. Therefore, Bad Company Spirits has chosen to call the cocktail La Babu. They recommend adding a bit of lime to give the cocktail acidity, but it can easily stand on its own.
