The solera system, used by Spanish sherry houses for centuries, is allowed here to shape a Dominican rum through a gradual blend of young and old vintages.
Expert Description
Patridom 12 Year Seleccion Exclusiva is a Dominican Republic Rum-based Spirit Drink, a blend of rum distilled from both pure sugar cane juice and molasses, aged 6 to 12 years via the solera method in French and American oak casks, bottled at 40%.
The solera system, where younger and older rums are gradually blended through multiple levels of ageing in the tropical climate of the Dominican Republic, gives Seleccion Exclusiva its depth and round character. Only 2,000 bottles of this release were produced, making it one of the more sought-after bottles in the Patridom range.
The result is a deep golden rum with a bakery-like sweetness and a long, softly rounded finish.
