Paniza lies in the dry, windswept Cariñena district southwest of Zaragoza, where old vines of Garnacha and Tempranillo thrive on soil other grapes would give up on.
Expert's Description
Paniza 2023 La Fea Tinto is a Red Wine from Cariñena, Spain made from a blend of Syrah, Tempranillo and Garnacha, bottled at 14% ABV.
The name "La Fea" means "the ugly one" in Spanish - an affectionate jab referring to the grape's rough, unmistakable character rather than a polished, pretty surface. Cariñena is one of Spain's oldest wine regions, and its high elevation gives the grapes wide temperature swings, resulting in intense fruit and good acidity.

Finish
Long, with a ripe grape tone that lingers.
