Rooster Rojo Anejo Tequila

Rooster Rojo produces at Fabrica de Tequilas Finos, located in the city of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. The producer started in 2000, but is housed in a beautiful old colonial building from 1923 and produces a wide range of different tequila series. Rooster Rojo Tequila is produced from 100% blue agave and comes in three varieties; Blanco, Reposado and Añejo. Rooster Rojo Añejo has been aged for a minimum of 12 months in oak barrels, which has made it darker and given it a smokier aroma and flavor than the other Rooster Rojo tequilas. The tequila has an amber color with a scent of chocolate, tobacco, coffee and oak. The taste is full-bodied with notes of agave, caramel, vanilla and oak followed by a concentrated, yet soft and long aftertaste with a delicate touch of oak and vanilla.

Crafted from classic Rhône varieties, the wine clearly reflects the warm climate of the area, where the grapes reach full ripeness and develop deep colour, intense aromas and a generous, full-bodied character. From the very first impression, it reveals both power and personality, yet also the elegance and balance for which the Marrenon cooperative is renowned.

In the glass, Grand Marrenon 2023 appears dark, dense and inviting. The aroma is rich and expressive, offering notes of ripe dark berries, blackcurrant, cherry and a hint of spice that evokes Mediterranean herbs and warm forest floor. Subtle touches of vanilla and cocoa from the oak ageing add depth without overshadowing the fruit. It is a wine that unfolds gradually, promising a layered and satisfying tasting experience.

1770 Glasgow 2016/2023 Mac Y Selection 7 years old Virgin Oak Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl 55.8%

Glasgow 1770 Virgin Oak Cask Finish - Mac Y Release was distilled on July 17, 2016, and bottled on July 27, 2023. This whisky is the finest symphony of malted barley with incredibly pure water from Loch Katrine and has undergone a fermentation process lasting over 72 hours before being carefully distilled using the distillery's traditional copper pot stills.

Subsequently, the spirit has been aged just over 3 years in a first-fill ex-bourbon cask before finally receiving an extended finish of nearly 4 years in a new, charred American oak cask. In total, this whisky has received a little over 7 years of aging - quite a lengthy maturation period considering the distillery's relatively young age!
