The name Ornabrak comes from the Gaelic 'Eorna Braiche', meaning malted barley, and it tells you exactly what this Irish gin is built on.
Expert's description
Ornabrak Irish Single Malt Gin is an Irish Single Malt Gin distilled by Origin Spirits in Skibbereen, West Cork, and bottled at 43%.
The gin is distilled from 100% Irish malted barley and undergoes four distillations in copper pot stills, before a fifth distillation introduces the selected botanicals.
After 36 distillation trials over 12 months, developed with input from some of the world's best bartenders, the recipe was narrowed down from nearly 30 candidates to just five botanicals: juniper, angelica, Douglas fir needles, lemon verbena and lemon peel.
Origin Spirits was founded by Patrick Shelley in 2013, and Ornabrak was the company's very first gin.
