Riise spirit drink and Pharmacy, which was founded by his father Albert Heinrich Riise in 1838 on the island of St. Thomas in the Danish West Indies (today known as the United States Virgin Islands). Haakon VII was originally Prince Carl of Denmark before being crowned King of Norway in 1905. His parents were King Frederik VIII and Queen Louise of Denmark. A.H. Riise Kong Haakon XO Royal Reserve spirit drink is based on the original opskrift that was King Haakon's favorite. The whisky is non‑chill filtered, naturally coloured, and crafted through LBD’s own cask management and blending philosophy. The vatting consists of 60% first‑fill bourbon casks and 40% sherry casks (PX and oloroso, both refill and first‑fill), giving it a style that differs noticeably from an official Glen Garioch. The aim is to create a signature single malt that combines LBD’s uncompromising focus on quality with a more accessible price and genuine availability in shops.

This preview release is limited to 500 bottles, each individually hand‑numbered. It is a whisky that works beautifully as an everyday dram, yet has enough depth to be shared on special occasions. A bottle made for good company – and for giving whisky fans an early taste of what will become Little Brown Dog’s first permanent release.

History: Aberlour is Gaelic for "The mouth of the babbling brook" and the whisky got this name because the distillery is built next to the Lour Brook. The distillery was built in 1879 by James Flemming, whose motto was "Let the deed show", by which he meant that the product should speak for itself and not be taken for anything more or less than what it is. The motto is printed on Aberlour's labels as a commitment to descendants, which the product still fully lives up to.
