This edition is matured in two distinct types of sherry casks. Amontillado sherry is known for its dual maturation process. The Cask Experiment Series explores new ways of making whisky, and CES#4 is no exception. It is a peated whisky that has first matured in ex-bourbon casks, imparting a soft vanilla and almond sweetness. It then undergoes secondary maturation in a Manzanilla sherry hogshead, adding a salty and fruity complexity.  

Manzanilla sherry is known for its dry and elegant profile, aged on the Atlantic coast in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. This maritime influence gives the sherry a distinctive saltiness that beautifully complements notes of green apples and nuts.
