Macallan 007 Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release is a single malt created to honour both The Macallan and James Bond – two iconic names united by a fascination with elegance, precision and timeless British style. Distilled and filled into casks in 2007, the whisky has matured for 18 years in an unusual combination of sherry‑seasoned and red wine‑seasoned oak casks. The cask selection was made by Russell Greig from The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team, a lifelong Bond enthusiast who handpicked a series of exceptional casks that mirror and pay tribute to the production and aesthetic of the 1971 film.

The colour is naturally dark, inspired by Nevada’s rugged rock formations – a visual nod to the film’s iconic scenes. On the nose, deep sweetness, dark fruits and subtle spice emerge. On the palate, the whisky opens with a surprisingly light and elegant sweetness from the American oak, offering notes of vanilla and caramel. This is followed by a darker, fruit‑driven complexity, where layers of dried fruit, warm spices and rich oak character create a rounded and harmonious profile.

The texture is silky and glides across the palate with the same confident smoothness as Bond himself. The finish is long, warm and refined, combining sweetness, oak and gentle tannins that linger and invite another thoughtful sip.
