Other: This Dalmore begins its life in the finest, 'first fill' American oak casks that have previously matured Bourbon Whiskey from Kentucky. At some point, the volume of this noble liquid is split in two, with one half remaining in the white American oak and the other half being transferred to aged port wine pipes.

Dalmore Port Wood Reserve 70cl / 46.5% Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling Matured first in American white oak bourbon casks, it is then finished in port pipes from W&J Graham before being bottled at a punch 46.5% These casks come from the famous Portuguese winery W.&J. Grahams, which is the last company with its own cooperage. This means they have mastered the art of aging port wine to perfection. The wine's contact with the wood works hand-in-hand with time to create one of Portugal's great port wines. It is in these casks - impregnated with aged Ruby Port - that half of our 'Port Wood Reserve' slumbers for a given maturation period. The refined result is then blended with its former half to harmonize the flavours of the original American wood.
